I recently discovered the work of photographer Paulina Arcklin and thought that this, Father Rabbit lovers, would be right up your alley. Paulina is a Finnish Amsterdam based stylist and photographer focusing largely on interior. Her style is unique and recognizable as you can see here with these photos above that  she has taken for Werannas Warehouse. Be sure to check out more of her images here. Wouldn’t Father Rabbit’s products fit in nicely amongst this lot?

Eggs

image

The other day a woman came into the store looking for an egg basket, which we have plenty of…now that we are ALL surrounded by chickens! I certainly read about them every week Sunday magazine via Lynda Hallinan (one of my favourite columns) and I know plenty of people that own them… Think Kara RosenlundI can name at least 5 of my friends who own or are babysitting chickens! (Ray, Kath, Tania… well 3 then)

I thought it appropriate to photograph another useful egg storage device.

I have been on the receiving end of quite a few fresh eggs. (Thanks Kath!)… and our neighbours certainly spoil us with fresh beans, basil and lemons from their garden… and the other day a fresh kahawai to smoke! I love community living.. I’m just a bit worried about my contribution. Right then off to the supermarket I go.

The Baby Rabbit

Father Rabbit has never been one to over look the Baby Rabbit, hence the reason for todays post. The Baby Rabbit room should not be used as a dumping ground for the copious amounts of toys you have lying around the house. Baby rabbit must also live in style. Here are a few Baby Rabbit rooms that I have selected via here to share with you today. The key to a Baby Rabbit room that works, good storage, clever use of space and of course the use of cool details. Why not use touches of black and white in the Baby Rabbit room right? Who said that colour must be used? Break the rules, live a little!

We FINALLY have the dove grey duvets in stock in all the sizes.  Limited numbers but in stock none the less.  We have been waiting patiently for months.  It is on the bed in the Father Rabbit House if you need to come and lie down to feel the softness of the stone washed linen. These duvet covers are made in Portugal.

Everything in this room is my favourite… all of which I don’t have at the moment!! I love radiators, except we don’t really see them in NZ.   A large framed mirror, I would love a fine steel framed mirror. A chest or little bench at the end of the bed to put excess blankets or clothes that you can’t be bothered putting away until the morning.  Matching lamps, white floor and heaps of books! I will keep dreaming and scheming.  What a divine bed!.. and not too “made up”.

A drop of Scandi a dash of Canada

Today’s blog post was created by Amy Tennent of Milo and Mitzy. Our Father Rabbit friend hailing from the Hawkes Bay.

This gorgeous light and airy home belongs to Tara Ballyntyne, style and food editor for Style at Home. Tara mixed both Canadian and Scandinavian designs on a budget to create her dream home. “Canadian design tends to be fuller and draw on deeper hues for comfort, while Scandinavian design is cleaner and relies on lighter tones to combat darkness when the sun goes down so early.” Tara states. Bringing the two designs together was her ultimate goal. Only problem, she had a budget of $10,000 including a new kitchen.

I have chosen to show you this house today because I feel that it is quite Father Rabbit appropriate indeed. How cool would Father Rabbit kitchen products look sitting atop of that bench or how fitting would Father Rabbit linen look nestled amongst that bed? Am I right?

Summer Entertaining

I just think we are so incredibly lucky to have a Summer Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere.  I can not wait to be on holiday from Christmas Day and celebrating Summer every day with delicious long lunches and beach swims.  Thank you so much for your wonderful support this year. We are so excited about the new year.  We have many new beautiful ranges arriving.

Thank you to Nick, who set up this beautiful summer lunch for us to enjoy.  I love rosé!

The Chope Unie Tumblers are featured (in stock now), along with the House Doctor (Anne) Cutlery (on sale now) and the Life range of pasta bowls (more arriving in the new year).  Also arriving next year are more chopping boards and oil & vinegar bottles.  The table cloth shown is the FOG LINEN cream 130 x 130 cm (you can use two of these on the diagonal on a long table). So why not complete your shopping online and take a moment to relax and check out these amazing images from A Merry Mishap that I thought you Father Rabbit lovers may enjoy.

Happy weekend.

The Design Chaser

Today’s blog post was created by Amy Tennent of Milo and Mitzy. Our Father Rabbit friend hailing from the Hawkes Bay.

Father Rabbit sure knows a great read when he spots one. Especially a read filled with such inspiration. Hot on Father Rabbits reading list today is The Design Chaser, an amazing blog created by the talented Michelle Halford.

As the curator of the blog, thedesignhchaser.com, Michelle Halford writes about great design from NZ and around the world. Passionate about interiors and Scandinavian design, she also features inspiring art, fashion, photography and architecture. What really drew Father Rabbit in was the beautiful mood boards that Michelle creates. Oh so very Father Rabbit!
