Father Rabbit Limited admires:

Rebecca Snelling of Douglas + Bec and Workroom.

Father Rabbit loves Douglas + Bec, the furniture, lighting and design store. Art and objects harnessed by Rebecca from around the globe and stunningly housed in the elegantly refurbished character building at 9 St Mary’s Rd Ponsonby. Very simple black painted timber floors, crisp white walls and timber museum-like display cases show off her impeccable selection.   Her father Douglas crafts her designs for their own brand of unique timber furniture, Workroom.  Douglas + Bec, the store, is a way for them to present their clever furniture and lighting in a designer controlled environment, as well as presenting other complimentary brands.

Father Rabbit Limited has specifically selected the best items from Workroom that fit in with his philosophy and taste.  We will eventually be stocking these items, but in the meantime, enjoy your trip to this lovely store. Highly recommended.

We asked Rebecca what her top three Father Rabbit Limited products are:

Linen Tea towel | Charcoal Stripe

I love this linen tea towel, it is oversized and absorbs. It reminds me of hospital ones, Mum was a nurse and worked at hospitals, so we did end up with a few.

Linen Tablecloth | White

White linen is one of my favourite things. And in a table cloth… It gives a sense of occasion with simplicity.

Dishwashing Liquid | Australian White Grapefruit

I am enjoying this product so much… it sits on my kitchen bench in all its glory and the fragrance is divine.

Best Fatherly advice handed down to you….

Don’t put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

Does anyone in your life share the same or similar philosophy as Father Rabbit.. What do you get hung up about..?  What needs to be just right in your life?

Haha my Father. Douglas is pretty like Father Rabbit in mind - he is practical and zealous, I have never met someone so practical - however I will say that I am rather practical as well (in the blood and those good farming roots) and often this was scary to potential suiters - lucky I have landed myself a good one. Mum, however is more like Father Rabbit in the physical as I mentioned she was a nurse - so her linen cupboard is neat as a pin and all the towels are white and fresh from the line and folded to precision - her wash house is run like the military.

So they are both aspirational folks - I am headed that way - the bench has to be wiped and tidy and the sink wiped out - I cannot bear a dirty kitchen. Towels are also a fixation - they have to clean and folded properly - we have a two use rule and they are all white. I am continously re folding Pauls.

Rebecca will later this year be working as Father Rabbit’s “Artist in Residence”.  We look forward to presenting her work soon!
