The Little Fish Co | Picton
It is a pleasure to travel in our beautiful country. We spent time in the Marlborough Sounds this Christmas… and our port is Picton. Loads of tourists pass through Picton regularly via the Ferry or Sounds Air. The Little Fish Co, could be missed if you didn’t have some insider knowledge! Nick’s parents introduced the fish to us over a few delicious meals.. the freshest freshest fish you can imagine.. butter fish, blue cod, all so succulent.
Caroline Anderson lives on board full time with her parrot “starboard”, and heads out 2 - 3 nights a week and sells the fish on Saturdays direct from the boat, whole… and filleted on the spot if you would like. What an amazingly simple life… catch the fish, sell the fish… and live in absolute paradise. She is obviously a very determined woman who I couldn’t help but admire.
So this is a little clue for tourists, locals and all those passing through Picton. On Saturdays, in the Summer months, head down to the wharf by the Beach Comber Cruises office and buy some fish straight off the boat at The Little Fish Co, caught by Caroline x
